Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Our cultural diversity is a core strength that drives creativity and innovation across our organization. The voices, ideas and contributions of our entire workforce, and in the communities where we operate worldwide, are crucial aspects of our commitment to contribute to feeding a growing global population.
Our Journey
One of the J.R. Simplot Company’s Core Values is a Passion for People. And one important way the company demonstrates that is through our activities in support of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). We are dedicated to ensuring our employees enjoy equal opportunities and are treated with fairness, respect and dignity. We strive to make sure they feel a sense of belonging and safe to bring their whole selves to work.
This journey is a long and purposeful one which started many years ago and is foundational to who we are as a company and our Simplot Mission and Purpose. In the last year we have formalized our processes and goals around DEI. These include (but are not limited to) launching a Global DEI Steering Committee, supporting employee resource groups, launching unconscious bias training, and determining three DEI global focus areas:
- DEI training, awareness, education
- Expanded diversity focus in all talent decisions
- Localized action
Simplot’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Framework
We are better together. The J.R. Simplot Company emphasizes its passion for people by building an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our people.
We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative work environment that delivers better results.
Simplot’s commitment to DEI strengthens our company and its business. We will continue to move forward on this journey in a meaningful, thoughtful way.
Employee Testimonials
“DEI is important to me as a human first. We are all diverse in who we are and what we bring. Equity is a choice we have every day and with that follows the act of being inclusive because ultimately, all we want and need is to belong, whether it’s in our families, friends, work or community.”
